Runtime error on next AH opening
« on: February 01, 2002, 04:57:45 PM »
Help... the cons today are nothing to brag about but I developed another problem. I was messing with RW, installing and adjusting mike volume, and now when I run AH I get a:

 Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library
Runtime Error
[points to AH location]
Abnormal program termination

It started just today and I think it was a Host Disco that was before it, not my usual frame rate nose dive and computer freeze thing.
After I reset, I can get into AH but not the first time. I've shut down the game normally but the 2nd entry gives me the error and a reset is needed.
Did RW effect this or do I need to shield my computer room in aluminum foil to keep the 'harmful rays' out? Kiddin o course on the 'rays' but I'm stumped on this error.

Is there a file I should delete or something? Thanks in advance for the 'always fast and usually correct' help.

Runtime error on next AH opening

Well, seems the error went away just as fast as it showed up.
Now I can enter without any error. Seems like I had this before, and just reopening AH fixed it. Just took longer this time.
Blame it on sun spots I guess.

I've noticed that sometimes when you get winsocked or quit AH other than the proper way, you get that abnormal termination error message.  99% of the times a reboot will fix it.
