I blow stuff up. I forget to click buttons when I do that. I find myself doin cuddlinghunk stuff like flyin goons, and manning ship guns, dying gloriously and frequently at the bottom of a dog pile. A landing's an event..

I'm just rollin in the mud, flyin like a happy idiot.. yet in Tour 12; came in 33rd in fighters, 36th in bombers, 113th overall. This in no way equates with my rank in the 'are yah havin fun?' catagory where I beleive I am always ranked in the top 10.

And the last score's the only one that counts.

Was wondering when somebody would say "who cares about scores!".

Strange though, they always seem to know their score.

There isn't a "Time Used In Arena" per se, but since your ammount of points won't increase if you don't play others will soon get more points than you and thus your rank in this catagory will increase (getting worse). Since your fighter rank is found by adding each individual fighter-skill rank (K/D, hit% etc.) and seeing who has the lowest number, you will slowly increase.

PS: It seems a lot of players try to see how good a K/D they can get the first few days of a tour before they start fly less catious. This makes a K/D of 3+ a regular sight at the beginning, than later. That means that your 3.75 might give you a better and better rank in the K/D stat as time goes, somewhat cancelling the effect of your low points value.

PPS: I think I am one of the few that says they DO care about score. I am not fanatic about having a good one, but feel I have more fun when I play to achive something.

It's not like I am doing milkruns endlessly to training facilities just to rack up bomb hit% of 500+ for instance.

Thx for the reply Snefens!

These points is the Air points = PlaneDamageScore + KillScore I gather.

(where PlaneDamageScore =
(DamagePointsScoredOnEnemiesTh isSortie * DeathMult) +
TotalTourPlaneDamageScoredOnE nemies
and
KillScore =
((AirKillsThisSortie * 1.0) + (AirAssistsThisSortie * 0.25) +
(GroundKillsThisSortie * 1.0) + (GroundAssistsThisSortie * 0.25) * DeathMult) +
TotalTourKillScore)

Do you have any idea of some exact values? The No 98 exampel in my first post had an amazing score of points, seemingly unpunished by a lot of dying.
At least the points value must be rather heavy biased in the final Ratings Math.

About the K/D its true that a value between 3 and 4 isnt much, but in the 109 (mainly) its more hehe.(Hint: K/D ratings for each plane..)

I don't think the points have a bigger weight on your fighter rank than the K/D.

It is unfortunate that we currently can't see our individual ranks on each skill, but I think I can make my point by looking at the scores from tour 11 instead.
Comparing your and a guy that had somewhat similar scores, only he got more points but smaller K/D, AKSkurj (sorry to either of you if you don't like me posting these stats):

Danish:
K/D: 2.3415 = Rank 46
K/S: 1.1429 = Rank 102
K/T: 0.0008 = Rank 431
Hit%: 0.0507 = Rank 313
Points: 1264.5027 = Rank 553
Total = 1445

AKSkurj:
K/D: 1.1901 = Rank 216
K/S: 0.9410 = Rank 170
K/T: 0.0009 = Rank 335
Hit%: 0.0422 = Rank 572
Points: 18566.0720 = Rank 7
Total = 1300

It is seen that although Skurj's K/D is worse than yours he really don't suffer much from this (only 170 rank-points difference). Reason is that a K/D of 1.19 is actually in the top 15% of all K/D's. No matter how good you do in this you can only be place so much better than him.
On the other hand you suffer tremendous by your low ammount of points.
One other thing to note is that the ranks are close just around the hit% you two have. A difference of 0.85% result in a rank 259 places apart. If you increased your hit% by this ammount you wouldn't gain more than 30 ranks.
Like it was stated last score thread: "To get a good rank you don't need to be good at anything, just don't suck at anything."

One can argue how much weight the total points should have. Like you describe it is currently controlled some by the deathmultiplier, but maybe it should be punished even more(5 or 10% points if you die instead of current 25%. Maybe even 0%)

Thx again Snefens!
Guess the conclusion must be that Fighter Ranks are determined by the above mentioned entries, including the points awarded. These points will accumulate through time, no matter what - if you just kill a little.Fly much and preferably furball-like and the mass of points will carry you through other shortcommings fine.Still looks like no-life/no-job multiplier to me (no pun intended, but being in more than fulltime job + having family this leaves me out for sure.Simply cant put in the quantity.)

Dowdings experience of returning after a good deal of days discovering that he had actually gained in Fighter Ranks is I suspect a one-off - or perhaps a misreading (dowd: ur wellcome to post a "danish is a dork" ;=)

No need to be dramatic but this kind of stats is a real turn off for me.Nuff said.

Now fallen to 136.

I've had days where my rank has gotten better when I didn't fly.

Now I can't seem to buy a better rank. Was in the 80's for most of last tour and even got as low as 32 but now I can't get below 200. Course I haven't flown much this tour but I have noticed that sometimes I get no score for my last mission.
I have been reborn a new man!

Notice I never said a better man.
