Can we get killshootr turned off in favor of PNG?

Tired of tail getting shot off clearing bombers. A few stray shells and I get the punishment. Not intentional.. I killed the bandit

How about just making your bullers affect NOTHING if you hit a frindly.  No damage to the friendly, no damage to you.  Just a waste of ammo.

If that doesn't work, then, as suggested above, PNG is excellent. (PNG = Destroy 2 frindly planes in 24 hours and your country no longer lets you carry live ammo for the duration of the day.)

Those make the most sense for gameplay.

Killshooter is just wrong.

J_A_B has the right idea. The reason these problems come up is due to the lag in on line flying. If we just treat friendly fire like we treat friendly collisions, meaning there is no effect in the main arena, that would seem to take care of the problem.

We really don't even need the PNG, since most pilots doing that are new and would be punished before they understood what was happening.

No friendly fire effect is the best just like it is with ground attack etc.

Shooting a friendly plane should have some penalty associated with it. Personally I'd like to see killshooter off and PNG on the first kill.

This keeps the trailers from just letting fly in hopes of stealing a kill. In real life you had to be sure of your shot and not involve friendly planes. It should be so here.

Clearing a bomber, countryman, etc. - shoot a friendly should have definite consequences. Make them fly rook or something.

Was on bandit's 6 about 10 mins ago... 400 and closing... just when I open up, a frenly planes swoops in and I hit him instead, tearing my plane to shreds.

Now - because of that I don't get to play for the rest of the day? Get real.

Naw, it don't work that way. First, when the friendly swoops in, POP he dies, well deservingly   . Then you finish the badit you were on originally, POP. Land, get credit for the kill, brag on whoever was dweebish enough to pull in front of you, and either fly goons for 12 hours, or switch countries  

As an alternative, you can just keep rearming, to prevent PNG from taking effect. Good perk plane practive

I don't have a problem with killshooter in principle.  My problem with killshooter is that your bullets do WAAAYY more damage to you if you hit a friend than they would do to an enemy.  One little 50 cal bullet can shear your wing with killshooter!

Jig, the problem with that system is this:

If PNG took effect after ONE friendly kill, then a simple accident would result in aot being able to play the game fully.  Nobody wants to penalize those who make a mistake.

However, someone who is DELIBERATELY fragging his teammates would be unaffected by that system.  He could continue to land and get ammo until someone destroys him.  Unfortunately, then the person killing him would himself be PNG!!

This is why I personally favor either 1.  PNG requiring TWO kills, with no rearming available) or, better yet 2. Bullets simply have no effect on friendlies.

NOTE:  If your bullets don't affect a friendly, there is still a "penalty" in that you wasted ammo.

It's worth a try.  Killshooter certainly sucks.  Tonight I'm saddled up on a con, and I let loose with a killing burst - 100 yards, zero deflection, bandit is not maneuvering.  But at that very instant a B&Z Chog comes flying THROUGH me and I am killed by my own bullets.  Of course the hamfisted Chog misses his shot, and he stopped my bullets, so the bandit lives, and gets "kill" of me.

Because I too am tired of havin the guy that, for whatever reason; wound up wandering in front of me, get me killed and then (!) miss the shot on the guy I was gonna hose..... (LOL funked!)

So lets just turn the effect of; like friendly collisions.

Nope, leave killshooter on.
And turn on friendly collisions.

It's bad enough having 3 bandits coming in and letting all of them shoot through each other to hit me would really suck!

I could care about all the crap that would go down about stealing the kill after I get shot down.

I know "IT'S ONLY A GAME" but even games should have some challenge and penalties attached.
