Looking to join a squadron
« on: January 20, 2002, 02:22:45 PM »
Greetings.

After many a disasterous flight in the MA and a number of frustrating times in the Training Arena where a few pilots didn't quite grasp that I was trying to train with someone and not engage in a massive free for all (as opposed to those times when it was a massive free for all and that was just fine) I have come to the conclusion that I want to join a squadron.

To be honest, I need the help.  Good intentions and a willingness to back up my fellow pilots just are not enough to make up for a massive lack of skill and/or talent.

My recent experiences have shown that while I am a passable pilot I am nowhere near being a fighter pilot to I am looking for someone who will take on a complete dweeb who is interested in training and working with a group.  I have been on the edges of the sim fighter community since the early days of the CK betas and still seem to do little more than increase the other guys' scores.

My problems with joining a squad are primarily the restrictive hours I have to fly.  Because of my execrable work hours (06:00 to 15:00 Thursday through Monday) I usually only can scare up a couple of late afternoon hours (15:30 to 17:00) during the week and a few early hours on my 'weekend' (04:00 to 06:30 Tuesdays and Wednesdays).  If there is a squad who is willing to give me a try please let me know.

Thanks
Skeksis

Hey Skeksis,
If your up to a challenge come go Navy and fly Hellcats with VF-27. You will never go back.
We are a new squad so leadership positions are open. Although we are fairly new to AH, the founding members have several years experience in leadership positions with JG-51 Mölders from WB's.
Being an "Ace" is not required. We will be glad to train and work with any new pilots who want to better themselves. Just bring a willingness to learn and work as a member of the team.
Our squad nites will be very user friendly as we meet Tue. & Thur. at 10pm EST.
Check out our recruiting poster listed here in the "SQUADRONS" section of the AH BBS for more detailed info and the Squad website by clicking the link under my signature.
If you are interested in a real challenge - drop me a line inside the recruiting office on the site.
GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING! !

Skeksis,
The Magnificent Seven is willing to train any new pilot that has a desire to learn. The main squad rules are to have respect for all pilots and (most important) HAVE FUN! Isn't that why we are here? Two-Three man wings are encouraged though not required. Very few things ARE REQUIRED (other than having fun).
If you have a desire to learn, and want to fly as a team, The Magnificent Seven will take the time and make the effort to make this happen.
We are new to Aces High, but were formed officially December 1997 back in the days of Mac Air Warriors. We flew Mac AW until it was shut down, and moved slowly to PC AW until it too was shut down. Now we are flying in Aces High and recruiting members that just want to get together and have a good time while learning air combat tactics and WWII Aircraft historical facts.
Anytime you can fly is fine with us. Just make an effort, tell us what you want to learn and we will help you do it. If we can't do it ourselves, we can find someone that can.
We look forward to flying with you no matter who you decide to fly with. :)
