Hung from slide
Reward money piles in for capture of dog's killers
EDMONTON (Alberta.com) — Reward money is pouring in for the capture of teenagers who hanged a dog from a St. Albert playground slide Saturday.
Horrified Canadians are jamming RCMP lines offering reward money or support for the 10-year-old owner of the German shepherd-cross who watched his pet being tortured and killed by three teenage boys.
The teens used the dog's leash to strangle him by hanging him from the slide, according to the young boy. By the time the frantic youngster was able to summon help, his pet had died.
St. Albert RCMP are investigating several leads into the alleged attack. An autopsy will be conducted on the dog today.
Reward donations are being accepted at Edmonton's PJ's Pets stores.
