AkAk ... I have heard Bong used his throttle alot when fighting..not sure if true but I can see how it would allow one to make a tighter turn perhaps vie engine torque?

If nothing else its more "realistic",lol.

When I get them I'll prob have a set of CH rudder pedals for sale...I'll post it. They're the game port ones of course.

thanks, might have to check out the Suncom throttle but I'd really hate to give up my trusty Pro Throttle.  Thing has been with me since my CH days and I rely on it not only in flight sims but the Pro Throttle with a trackball is the best first person shooter rig on the planet.

The only downside is that Suncom is a crappy company and has not released the win2k drivers *grumble*. Their website is down almost 300 days out of the year. :p

Using dual throttle helps a lot in the 38, you can turn much tighter by lowering throttle on 1 engine to half, when compressed you can actually ROLL by lowering 1 engine to 0 throttle, you can do some neat manouvers like a side-flop hammerhead by ruddering and lowering 1 engine's throttle while pushing the stick downward (to prevent the nose-up flip).. and when they blow your wingtip off you have UNREAL control over the plane by using the throttle's to compensate.. and 1 or 2 flaps and you can fly it like a stalling lanc until you land.

You ordered it batdog? You will LOVE it. Its an awesome stick. Just be sure to keep it clean or the spiking will give you a headache (having 1 engine go up and down in throttle can be a problem hehe). Also, if you dont have a serial joystick, go buy yourself the cheapest you can find, you DO need to have a serial joystick plugged to it or the throttle wont work at all.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

An option you might consider is to select the engine using a voice command like MS GameVoice or Game Commander 2.  Then your one throttle can control all or just the selected engine.  This should work for our four engine buff fans as well.  Just an easier option, but actually having a throttle for each engine would be more realistic.

I mapped the buttons on my throttle.. To select all engines to 1 and 2.. Was flying offline cause i can't fly online till wensday :(.
Anyway was messing around with it.. And man I could wrap the 38 around tight! Tho when I tried to roll at a speed of like 300mph or so it didn't help much but when your slow like 150mph
put one engine at 0 and man that 38 will roll over like no other.
and when turning the 38 at speeds like 150mph with full flaps
down the plane wants to roll over on its back.. So you have to
use your rudder to balance everything out. but man the 38 can turn on a dime like that! When TS posts the other pics of his throttle I'm gonna start right way on building my own. I have found that I can build better stuff that what you can buy at the store :)..

At speed below 200 mph , lowering throttle helps you roll much better because Torque hits you.

At 400mph or higher, lowering thrust on 1 engine will slowly roll your plane.. a lifesaver if you are in a nose down compressed dive with 1 of your wings pointing skyward and the other earthward... and you *really* dont want to slow down because that $#@$@# con will catch you. So instead of lawndarting, cutting back 1 engine rolls your wing slowly till its level with horizon..and you're still diving at 500mph.

Oh, and just try to do a barrel roll at 450mph cutting the throttle on the engine on who'se side you're rolling and apply full rudder to that side. It makes a neato high speed stall/stumble.. and also may save your bellybutton because the other guy will not expect you to stall at 450mph *G*.

Hehehehe will try that when I get my throttle.. I ordered a the suncom throttle fer 35 bucks alittle while ago. i will still make my own throttle tho will be a cool project to undertake! I dunno about all those buttons on the throttle tho.. I stll have buttons on my stick and throttle I don't use. Using this throttle will make flyign the 38 alot more fun! Dunno if will help me flying any.. I still have a long way to go before I get to where I was when i flew AW... and reading fighter combat while I can't play helps to.:)
