I have this problem. The computer will shut itself down, restart, shut itself down - over and over and over.

At post I hit F8 for boot options and chose "Directory Services Repair Mode" (or similar) Although it says "safe mode" on all four corners of the desktop, the resolution is normal, and it appears that almost everything is loaded and workable, minus desktop settings and a few other things. I can surf and play AH and everything else normally...

I've decided to run it like this until the next Service Pack comes out, I think its SP-3.

Has anybody else experienced this in Win2k?

AFAIR DS Repair is *not* the same as safe mode.

Have you tried getting the fix from MS?

No, I didn't Qts.  Since I'm able to work in the DSRMode, I'm a bit lazy. If it continues to run as it is, I'll just wait for a hotfix or SP-3 to come out.
