TB Santa Cruz/Win 2000
« on: February 12, 2002, 07:14:21 AM »
My Santa Cruz card starting acting up yesterday.  I'm getting random background static noise, occasionally fairly loud.

I have recently installed the Live365 radio sound player, drivers for my Hewlett Packard USB scanner, Visual Basic 6.0 with full documentation, and RealPlayer 8 Basic and Real Jukebox.

Is anybody aware of a possible conflict here?   Can someone suggest a troubleshooting method?

My first thought is the uninstall, remove, and reinstall the sound card & drivers.   If that doesn't work, I thought I'd uninstall each of the items listed above one at a time.

I don't understand how any of these might be affecting the sound card though.

BTW RealPlayer is an annoying product.  Despite specifically telling it NOT to put an icon in the tool tray, it did.  And everytime I start it I get an annoying popup that asks me to upgrade.  Fer cryin' out loud, let me use it a few weeks before pestering me to update it like that...

Thanks all.
