Give us some NEWS
« on: February 11, 2002, 03:49:18 AM »
How about throwing us some more beef (aka news) about the 1.09 update? In the meantime, about half of my squad is playing IL-2 online, the other half is on leave due to boredom.

I remember when updates and/or news were smaller but more frequent, this was (imho) the right way to keep customers more interested in AH.  A couple of screenshots after months are not what I consider enuff news and/or updates. I understand HTC is working hard, but pls understand my customer POV as well.
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

Agree, how may time since the last patch?

gatt, u hit a dangerous nail here, people leaving due boredom and waiting for the next patch. Does that mean we are hopping to have more fun based on future patches? Will this become an endless vicious loop? Will submarines or new planes make AH noticeably more fun to play?

Well, IMO,60% of the actual boredom is based on our limited set of maps, and part of the rest may be based on the very poor graphical / sound effects already present. I know more than one and more than two people that now are fully dedicated to IL2 just because it is stunning and spectacular, not because IL2 has any substantial advantage over AH in realism.

Personaly, I'm a realism wore, but I must admit that actual graphical effects are like those present in mid 90s games, too old fashioned for the actual market. As an example, destroying a house remembers me the same effects in some very old Amiga games. Plane hits are even worse than those in my first version of Falcon (also for Amiga), and so on. As a rule, IMO, graphical effects and sound are game inmersion.

Not getting any news would probably be a big deal if we were actually paying for this service.

Oh, hey wait.....we are paying for it.
