My "ride" is Aces High... because it lets me fly so many different aircraft that really do have both distinctive and somewhat "realistic" flight models, and because it lets me fly them in a variety of ways... free flight, formation flying, level bombing, dive bombing, strafing (would be much more fun with infantry

), bomber gunners, and of course my favorite ACM versus other people in HTH and CT formats (don't really care for MA).
As a kid I was partial to both the P-51D and the F4U-1D, so I have flown them enough to be somewhat proficient. I also spend quite a bit of time in the P-38L and P-47D. I definitely prefer American Iron

But, due to my spending most of my online time in either the CT or in HTH teams, I have really flown Bf109 (F4, G2, and G10), FW190 (A5 and D9), Yak-9, and La-5 (La-7 wasn't out back when I was playing in Russian team fights) quite a bit too. When I get tired of being killed by Spit IXs, N1Ks, and Tempests in HTH, I just hop in an A6M or a Spit V and have a party

I am least proficient with the flight models and gunnery of the LW, I am at best average in Russian aircraft, I have enough time in A6M to do pretty well, but I have the most fun trying to tnb with Spits and N1Ks while flying American iron. For me, there is no greater pride (or insult to the opposition) than to beat a tnb plane in a turn fight flying a P-51D or P-38L down in the mud (below 5000 feet). Of course high-deflection snapshot shooting skills is a must and one circle too many depletes the energy American iron needs... but I am willing to die repeatedly to enjoy the challenge, and I don't always die

P.S. I have almost no time in N1Ks or Tempests... I wonder if I should fly them more so I know their limits better? I definitely have trouble flying Tempests/Typhoons and also fight the worst against them.
