I would re-seat the cpu, make sure its seated per the instructions, and of course, make sure you have thermal paste applied.

Re-seat ram, maybe try with only one stick at first. If no post, replace with another stick.

tried all of that, I think the board is bad.  no beeps no video, just fans and HD running.  It does that same thing even if no ram in it at all.  Took out the cpu and did the same thing.  could also be the cpu to though.  maybe even the ram, ugggh no wait maybe power supply is wimpy, 300watts, uggh maybe its all bad and I blame the Taliban

Did you clear CMOS?  Try doing that and then restart computer holding down insert key to get into BIOS.

Did you use a shim between the HSF and CPU?When I built my first Tbird,I didn't and crunched the teeniest little corner of the CPU when I seated the HSF.R.I.P.My system wouldn't post either.
I ended up ordering another CPU,and this time I used a shim.I never build an AMD without a shim now.

I hope I'm wrong, but if you didn't use a shim, you may have damaged the cpu.:(

I tried everything I could think of this weekend and still nothing.  No beeps, no video.  I get power to the board but nothing gets it to post.  I figured with no ram it would give me the ram beeps but nope not even that.  think either board or cpu is bad.  Will find out more later this week.
