« on: March 03, 2002, 02:07:03 AM »
I could not get 1.08 to run due to an error, so i uninstalled all my AH stuff and downloaded 1.08 again. Now it wont install because it says the program already exists even though i've removed all AH files. Help please!

I dont know enough to be able to help a lot.  I`d say you still have parts of AH somewhere on your comp..
I had this problem with another site and I had to dig deep in my comps. files to locate and delete.

I had this problem too at one point.  If you're comfortable with doing this, manually edit your system registry to remove all references to aces high.  Use the find command (F3) and use aces high as the search word.  Go through and delete all references.

As a secondary search, you can also use HTC as a search word, but you need to be careful what you delete.  The search will pull up matches of "HTC" which are not releated to the Aces High program.

If you have any doubt what the registry key is, don't delete it.  After I did all this, I had no problem installing AH in the correct directory.  Hope this helps

I just had to add a few words seeing that my squadmate was here! hehe!

If you get into registry edit and search for HTC, be sure to only delete the areas that are clearly Hi Tech software generated.

Also, look for "HiTech Creations"

And "Aces High"

I have a feeling the part that doesn't go away is in the Uninstall mumbo jumbo in the registry! And that may be the culprit!

I have no idea if this would work as I'm lucky enough to not have to go through this and if I did, my memory is too short to recall anything! (If they had "killshooter off" I would be jailed for shooting my own!) :p

Come to think of it, I would like to shoot some of own countrymen, particularly the ones that get in front of me to steal my kill! ;)

Good luck!
