Can anybody nail down the first time someone working hard on something responded to repeated questions about when they would be done with a sarcastic reply "... in two weeks"?

I am thinking this goes way back. There were plenty of situations in the past that would elicit such a response.

When is the baby due?

When is our ship returning home?

When will the new movie be in theaters?

When is the first atomic bomb going to be ready for testing?

When is this war going to end?

When is the first Apollo moonshot going to launch?

When is the new service pack for windows going to be out?

When is the P-40 going to be added to AH? :D

First time I ever heard it was from Kelton when we squeaked and griped for features in early AW.

I thought it came from the movie "Total Recall"

Arnie was dress up in the woman garb and all the program could say was,

"Two Weeks"

:)
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

I got my fill of it about 3 1/2 years ago. Trying to get ATT cable. For the first 3 months they said they would have my neighborhood hooked up in 2 weeks (ended up being the very last neighborhood in Portland to get it), every time I called back they said "in 2 weeks". Then they said they where having problems and it would be the following October (11 months away) so I waited that out and we went back to the 2 weeks routine for 3 months, then I got a good deal on DSL so I went that way. 2 months after that the ATT guy showed up at the door trying to sign me up for cable.
I told him to get the hell off my porch
