Can I get my CH Force FX to work with Win2k?
« on: February 28, 2002, 09:13:35 PM »
Is it possible to get the Force FX to work within Win 2k, or will I have to do a dual boot config?  I really want to try force feedback, but info seems scarce on this  :(

Good question.  In theory it should be possible to eek out some minor feedback effects using the  Force FX DirectX5 drivers since those aren't OS specific drivers.  Another thing that has to be considered is that the ForceFX DirectX5 drivers only work with DirectInput and I-Force 2 feedback, so if AH uses a differen't force feedback API, I don't think the drivers will work.

Also be aware that the ForceFX DirectX5 drivers never left the early beta stage and there are numerous bugs and conflicts with those drivers, especially if you are using other serial device(s) like a modem and the feddback effects are very limited.
