Hi
Well met
Im new to Aces, and i was wondering the message box scrolls so fast i can barely read it in flight if someone is talking at me.  Is there any way to get rid of some of the clutter or at least slow the thing down a bit so i can read when someone response to me online?

Thanks

Go online, and on the clip-board click 'setup'. Then click the box that says 'GUI'. You should now see two sliders...move the "Msg Alpha" all the way to the top. I think that should slow it down some for you.

Another way to do it would be to squelch a channel (I.E. press /, type .squelch 1, then hit Enter).

Keep in mind that if you squelch channel 1, you won't get all the warm, kind-hearted 's from people you shoot down!:)

Have fun and Welcome!

Another way to slow down the text traffic is to remove the kill messages.

This is done by squelching the server. I *think* it's ".squelch 6"; but hopefully some one will confirm the correct command syntax.

Best way to do it is like how Seeker says.  All the 'Msg Alpha' slider does is make the backround darker or lighter in the text box.

AKAK is correct! Never really had a need to play with the 'Msg Alpha' slider...assumed it slowed the text scroll speed down.

Sorry about that.

Moro

Sometimes ".squelch 1" command  gives to you lot of time to follow txt buffer...

I had same issue about text flying by, I squelch channel 1 and 6 when I get in, that way I only see friendly text (channel 2) and squad text. I do miss out on seeing who is racking up the kills though. I use a microsoft strategic commander for most game funcitons, so i have a macro that enters the /.squelch 1 and /.squelch 6 commands. You can unsquelch when you want with /.unsquelch 1 or /.unsquelch 6..btw, these commands are covered in the help files, just hit help on the left, and you will find them.
