No kidding.  I can't find anything on the web but just heard on the news.  Some dude, 30yrs old dies after whackin his head due to a siezure brought on by 6 STRAIGHT 8hr DAYS of Nintendo!!

...sheesh, and I thought I spent too much time in AH!

THROW OUT YOUR CONSOLES!!..NOW!!

Mario Brothers?....Just say NO!

I knew consoles were evil..I KNEW IT!

You are just as prone to seizure from playing a computer game as a console game, I would think. They have warnings about this, you know. I wouldn't worry about it, an occurrence like this is so freakishly rare that I find it hard to believe that a videogame-induced seizure has directly caused the deaths of more than a tiny handful of people...

Errm, I think there were similar cases in Japan last year (was it when FF8 came out?).

Ahhh 6/8h straight Gaming...those were the times...now it's WORK, PAY, WORK, PAY... pfffft.... :D

Ive been sitting infront of a computer for what seems the last 4-5 years, With a few breaks (gotta sleep sometime).  i sit in front of one at work and  one(two) at home. Oddly enough im still alive :cool: :confused:



stupid console games.. What can expect from nintendo ?

And to top it off, the wife of this man is attepting to sue Nintendo of America for damages and emotional distress...how's that for a crooked lawsuit...:D

I think they are called "epileptic" seizures, although I am not sure...

However, it isn't just consoles that generate this. It's pretty much anything on TV or a graphically generated screen that involves a lot of consistent and quick flashing.

I'm sure if you watched cops for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week you'd fall over into a seizure.

There was a problem in Japan with an animated cartoon that had a lot of flashing and sent kids into seizures, although they were not deadly, it resulted in the show being banned.

Oh, and I think it's also from playing in the dark with flashing lights- not when you are in a well lit room, but I could be mistaken.

Yeah! Them lil' bastards. I went to the website, damn green/red flashing overloaded my senses almost passed out on the floor!

I think they were on a episode of the simpsons when they went to Japan- that was pretty funny.
