I find the EXACT same thing Hang.  Then again, Ive been flying the 51D for close to 2 years now here in AH.  Thing fits me like a glove.

Beyond the canopy/view issues, its that nastier stall thing that gets to me in the B. In the D, I have surprised more than a few Spit pilots with good snap turns/snapshots. I have a much harder time pushing the limits of the B. If I get it right, its great. But much more frequently than the D, in the middle of a hard turn I stall, snap roll, and hit the ground before I can recover.

Especially because the plane is not designed for it, I love mixing it up in the mud at low speeds... at least with a D :)

I would love to see an Allison Mustang. Of course a version with the 4x20mms would be nice, but I would settle for the 4/6x0.50s options as well. Historically it would be incorrect because they were wired shut, but I would love the dive brakes on the A-36..

Streak, the 'dive brakes wired shut' bit is a myth. See below...

Quote
A sort of urban legend has sprung up about the A-36A's dive brakes. According to some stories, the dive brakes of the A-36A were next to useless and were deliberately wired shut at the manufacturers so that they could not be used. This story is totally incorrect. On the contrary, the dive brakes proved to be quite effective in combat, and the aircraft was so stable with the dive brakes extended that bombing while in a dive was particularly accurate. The origin of this legend seems to have been in the United States, at a time before the Invaders first went overseas. It seems that A-36A pilots were told by their officers in the USA that their dive brakes would be all but useless in combat and it would be best if they simply wired them shut. This turned out to be incorrect, and the dive brakes were used to great effect throughout the Sicilian campaign and the Italian invasion.

I don't think it is entirely a myth, I have seen equally credible documentation by pilots that flew them in combat that support them as being wired shut.

Either way it is inconsequential. AH doesn't model hardly any of the technical problems these aircraft actually had beyond compressibility effects. So, I would like to see this little problem ignored as well for my own entertainment (myth or not).

Beyond the guns feed/jam problems due to the original sideways installation and the restricted visibility, Mustangs had major landing gear problems!!!

P-38s had so many problems (too many to list ;)), they replaced them with Mustangs :)

F-4U had so many problems, they gave them to the Marines. Of course the Marines did so well with them, the Navy asked for them back :)

The Bf109 was obviously a great plane in the hands of a skilled pilot, but most pilots couldn't even taxi or land without damaging or crashing it.

The F6Fs only real problem is that the F4U was better ;)

If AH can neglect all these things for all these other aircraft, can they please give me an A-36 with functional diver brakes? I tried flying it in WB3, but I can't stand WB3 flight modeling and its graphics don't mix so well with the Voodoo.

D model for all occasions. D turns as well as the B at low alts with 4 guns. Plus the D is vastly superior in terms of speed below 25k and visablility.

The B is faster from 27+ K and between 13-16K and thats it.

What ya wanna turn in a pony for anyways??
