Akdeja and you actually told the insurance company that you got the car for less than the street price? Are you on crack? Lol.

I'd tell them that the car was stolen with the crown jewels and a brand new hometheater system inside it

No.. I didn't tell them how much the car cost me. They KNEW how much I'd paid for it. One thing I've always found to be true... during an investigation where you are innocent... its best not to cloud the issue by lying.

Just the idea of telling them 'yeah I really got it for that cheap' sounds like shooting yourself to the leg

You got lucky, usually the insurance companies find all loopholes not to pay you.

It does not matter what you paid for a car. That is completely irrelevant. If you have your car stolen, I guarantee it will be clearly explained to you by the insurance company. Sometimes that works in your favor... most of the time it doesn't.
