I'm a little pissed...

I'm on a private channel in the CT and I said the word "shit"....No warning and BAHM...i'm muted.

WTF is that...I'm talking to a squad mate on a PRIVATE channel and I'm muted.

I expect certain things in the CT arena...call me elitist, but I expect a certain level of maturity in the CT...do we REALLY need this level of Big Brother???

This is buggered IMO...roadkill also comes to mind along with a few other words I could mention but I don't want to be muted here also for the next 10 mins

Drunky there is no badword filter on the squad channel . Private channel is censored of course, the most obvious reason for this is that it is the channel that donutheads, (Skippy comes to mind) use to harrass you with obscenities after you shoot them down .

same thing happened to me I was talking on squad channel and was using the odd profanity(actually was telling rude joke ) whilst we were joking around then accidently used the open channel(im terrible for this missing alt/cntrl/shift hehhe ) and BOOm 10 minutes watching teammates ask me questions i couldnt answer.Turn it off please until we actually have someone complain or actually care about it.
If someone swears on open channels or private constantly then ban the idiots. But as to stopping it for everyone? WHAT are we kids???

Using profanity on private channel or any other channel other than squad channel can get you a 10 minute mute. It's built into the game. It's like that in the MA too. The way it is now, you just control yourselves and don't use profanity adjectives anywhere but on squad channel. Otherwise we'd be seeing threads about how XXXX always curses me on private channel whenever I shoot him down! Looks like this is the lesser of two evils myself. The only work you have to do is NOT use curse words on the affected channels.

Thank you for posting Hblair...I appreciate when we get a response from someone who is actually in charge

But I would like to make a suggestion...since I am known to drink a bit  and I tend to forget which channel I'm talking on sometimes, it would be considerate to have a warning first to remind me that I've done something naughty

I seem to remember this happening years ago in the MA.

So what happened to the warning first then the muting?  I did the same thing the other day in there slying with skernsk.  I forgot that we were on a private channel and not on a squad channel and typed a word thats on the list....pow!  I was quiet for 10 minutes.  Luckily skernski stepped out for a smoke about that time and I didnt have to sit there and read his questions and have him get all pissed cause I wasnt talking to him.

ps) my handle has the word prettythang built right into it. I can't use this handle for ID in some internet sites(especially Microsoft sites).. Phooey!

Funked, that was a scary sight, I was merely flying away from the confusion (discovering the new map), when i found myself under a cloud of Spitfires/Hurricanes... I think I sh*t my pants, swallowed my cigarette and accidentaly pulled the tigger... this is the only reason I was not able to cuss
