Well, back of the ship looks odd. It sure is german, some of those pocket battleships? Hipper? =)

Hmm, it looks odd because there is some iron between ship and camera, hehe

German Heavy Cruiser KM PRINZ EUGEN

Photo is of note as the cruiser has in place a temporary stern patch after being torpedoed by the British submarine HMS TRIDENT.  The temporary stern had two rudders on each corner and was steered by two large wheels on the deck that had to be turned by about 25 men each. The cruiser was steered like that all the way back home where a new stern was fitted.

phwaaagh  too easy. if you asked me the name of the guy wearing grey overalls on the deck then maybe this 'name this' might be some sort of challenge!

btw his name is able seamen 'Hans HoffourWimen' and his name became a slogan the chirpy cockneys used to welcome the yanks when they came over to UK!

   One of my all time favorate ship's and one of the luckest by far:) took a freaking A bomb to kill her.
