After reading the thread in the Officer's Club titled DRESDEN I cannot help but feel the need to post this request. Please change the terminology of the "city" strat targets and the "town" tactical targets. We can call them things like "Army HQ" and "Army Camp" making them legitimate targets with the notion of when the buildings are destroyed there are uniformed soldiers killed and not innocent women, children, and pets.
If the naming practice is to continue, then I must further suggest that the perk points be tallied as negatives for each object destroyed in the "city" and "town" areas to reflect the notion that even though it is necessary to kill women, children, and pets to achieve the goal (ie downtime for factories and capturing of airfields) the means to the ends cannot and will not be justified and awarded. I would dare suggest that if one were to bomb one of the above-mentioned civilian targets and there is not appropriate effect (ie bomb city but no follow-on raid to a factory w/in x amount of time or bomb town with no field capture w/in x amount of time) the player be penalized double the perk point reduction because this reflects their desire for nothing but terror attacks on innocent women, children, and pets.
Its a sad commentary on the mindset of the game developers to include such targets in a simulation and actually reward players for their destruction and actually REQUIRE them to do so if the so-called "war" is to be won. The insensitivity to those who died and those who lived through such barbarous attacks, and to those who are the descendents of said victims is truly amazing.
We should make our virtual war less violent.
Have a nice day!
