SpitIX can do a lot of things better than YakU, it has both horizontals and verticals over Yak. SpitIX is one of the best high alt interceptors, and it will be extremely effective at alts where yak will be a brick. Spit has same or better climb rate on wep (depends on alt),it takes more punishment. Spit has bad 6 view, Yak's 6 view is great. Spit has hispanos, and adequate ammo load. YakU has bad punch and low ammo. My convergence it YakU set at 100ft, in SpitIX I had it at 450. And, SpitIX can fly escorts across the map, while YakU runs out of fuel very fast.
When I co-e with spit or niki I usually run, get separation, turn, avoid HO, and try to get a solution while keeping enough e to run again. If I fail to kill it in 5 seconds, I run.
Yak biggest advantages are its speed, high speed handling and its small size. If stats of % of misses against planes were available, you would see, that yak is on top. It is really hard plane to hit. More than once I had fight 1 vs many when they all simply ran out of ammo
