HTC: New strat Model - Strat Zones????
« on: March 18, 2002, 12:51:53 PM »
I really hate to wear out my welcome, but I need more information.  I checked the new help file but it had no info on strat zones.

I need information of how the new strat-zone changes are going to work.

For someone who is now designing a MA terrain to be used when that comes out, how should we lay out the strat zones?

I need this from HTC or someone in CM who knows for sure.  Speculation would not be useful.

I read where HT refered to Sabre's suggestions and I read Sabre's original post.  Whats not clear is how much and which parts of that are being adopted as the new strat model.

We prefer to think out the strat first and decide all our fields placements based off that, so until we have more understanding of the new model we're pretty much stuck.

I know you guys are pretty busy, but any clarification you could provide would be greatly apprecited.

Either here or to JasonIrby@msn.com.

Regards,
Wab

Helping AKWabbit with a new terrain and I'm wondering exactly how country objects resupply field objects. Do they automatically supply all fields regadless of postion or does there have to be a physical connection between the country object and the field object like trains or convoys? If the latter then how close to the objects do the roads/tracks have to come?
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

They automatically resupply the field ( Trains, Convoys and Barges don't have to be placed in the terrain )

Strategic system  http://www.hitechcreations.com/map.html

The field targets affect availability of field items such as planes, fuel, ammo, etc.  Every tower has a chalkboard displaying the field number and the current status of the field targets.

The country targets are the factories that affect the downtime of field targets.

The city targets are the buildings within a city and they affect the downtime of the country targets.

The supply targets are the trains, convoys, and barges that resupply damaged fields and cities.

I would say that the Trains, Convoys and Barges just speed up the Downtimes.

I know that's how they worked in the previous version. We'll need to be able to define zones for them if they work the same in this version. If we are to have zones.
