Airshow Smoke
« on: March 09, 2002, 05:44:56 PM »
I know their have been threads on this before but I haven't seen any responses.

I asked Pyro in the MA once and he said he thought we already had it.

What I would like to see is a choice of smoke from the CG or wingtips and a choice of colors for the smoke.

that would be a fun yet meaningless addition :)  I've always wanted to organize some sort of AH airshow :D  Get a routine, coreograph it (sp?), film it, use new film editor and present.

Octavius it's more fun to do a live show under pressure than just post your best film. It could be done in the TA, DA, or a special event arena.  You wouldn't want airshow smoke enabled in the MA or CT arenas. Aerobatics and formation aerobatics are a lot of fun and are more fun to watch with smoke. Smoke in the TA would also be a learning tool since the track function requires you to film.

Yup, would be very fun, remember that WB has got it, green and red from wingtips :)

Hell, make it red white and blue smoke!  :)

Hehe...that would be neat in the TA...set what color you want for three canisters (wings and center fuselage) We could do the AH Airshow all over again... :D

Hehe...neatness...

For formation flying I think it's best to have single smoke from the fuselage so the wingy isn't flying in the lead's smoke.

Wingtip smoke is nice to show maneuvers and for solo aerobatics. Triple smoke might be a bit much. I'd rather see longer lasting smoke than triple smoke if there was a tradeoff.

I think red, white, blue, and green would be good choices for colors. I don't know if there are any issues to limit the pallet.
