Pyro, please, please updat the ENY values
« on: March 13, 2002, 12:24:57 AM »
The P-38 and Spit V, both capable and common have an ENY of 30 whereas rare aircraft like the Ki-61 and P-47D-11 have ENY values of 18.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Hurri or a Mossie, yet they have ENY values of 25, less than the P-38 and Spit V.

I see P-38s all over the place, it is a changed bird since it was toughened.  It is far superior in air-to-air combat to the Ki-61, Hurri IIc and Mossie and it is far more common than all of those combined, yet it has a higher ENY.

Please adjust the ENY values.

The question is:

Are people flying them because they're good planes, or because they're decent and get a good amount of perks?

Not saying the ENY shouldn't be changed, just throwing out the possability that the ENY might be half the reason these planes are seeing as much use as they do.

Hmm....anyone care to go back and look up Spit 5 usage before perk system was introduced?

First of all - I dont fly P-38s nor Spit Vs. I Prefer the Yak-9U, Tyffie, Tempest and c.202 so much more that I have no time to fly those (and I suck incredibely in P-38 too) :D

At the other hand I would suggest seting higher ENY to c.202 or give perks for assists in it due to enormous number of assists to 1 kill ratio :)

Jab... it honestly shouldn't matter why they are flying them.  The P-38 for instance, now that the DM has been changed, is a superlative plane for the MA.  It is much, MUCH better than the Ki61 in my opinion.  It makes no sense for the Ki61 to have an ENY value of 18 while the P38 has an eny value of 30.

As always with this issue, I completely agree with Karnak.

I wonder where has the plan for an online dynamic ENY Perk award system. It was mentioned by HTC that they planned to do a perk system in which  the outnumbered country would get  cheaper perk rides depending which country was on the hole. So far nada about it.

IMO that would be very helpful in controlling perks awarded but also in perk point usage.

I fly the spit V cuz I get lots of points.  Gotta make up for that ME262 I augered on final :D   I don't look at the ENY value that much as I pretty much stick to 3 planes based on the situation (spitV, F6, and C205).

I think the ENY values are ok.

I do agree the Ki61 and the jug-11 have a tad low ENY value.

However, you also must realize its much easier to get kills in those planes than in a 38. They can also run from a fight and turn like a mother.

They should both be around 20 to 25 ENY.

The 202 should be 60 eny. Gdamn spitwad mg's ;) :D

"Jab... it honestly shouldn't matter why they are flying them. "

Normally I'd agree.....but if people are flying them FOR the ENY value they have and you lower it......then suddenly nobody would be flying em  :)

Of course you could just raise the ENY of KI's and P-47's which is something I didn't think of last night as it was late when I posted and my brain was mush and that was probably what Karnak had in mind in the first place.

Tac, if anything, the c202 should be perked!

I now have gathered enough statistics to prove it, too!

CLEARLY it must be perked!

It's vastly superior to any other plane. I say perk it - and make it expensive.

LOL! You haven't flown the Ki much have ya?  Nor turned much in the D11.

The ENY values should be constantly adjusted... though I don't think it really impacts much as far as usage goes.

Tac,

I disagree.

I don't have many flights in the P-38, but my single best sortie was in the P-38.  I got 8 kills.  That is more than the 6 that is my record for the N1K2, Spit IX and Tiffie and more than the 5 that is my record with the Mossie.

It was easy to do so.

The P-38 is a great fighter.  Its not the best, true, but there is no need to under sell it.  It is certainly better than the Mossie and more common, let alone the Ki-61.  I actually see Mossies once in a while, I never see Ki-61s.

Yet the ENY for the P-38 is higher than that of the Ki-61 and Mossie.

I don't care if the P-38's ENY stays where it is, but some other aircraft need their ENY values raised.

Remember, the P-38 and Spit V are both in the top 10 aircraft, none of the others that I mentioned are.  ENY encouraged diversity should mean more than just Spit Vs and P-38s.
