Speeds and ranges - sounds like our P-51.

Yup.. I started a nag about the tanks and the inability to use them for ground attack a month or two back; but the appeal petered out without historical proof. Now we have it. Thanks WarDog!

Hope Pyro sees this; would like the drop tanks to be more effective than the current one 'ping'.

In Yeager's book, on his last mission, he and Andy were flying over Europe finding all the place he'd gone when he was shot down, to a place up in the mountains where a German partol had shot at him and a wounded B-24 navigator. Nearby, they dumped their tanks and started to strafe them till they were pulverized, but neither could get theirs to light. (Judging by the length of their cross country trip and low altittude they were prolly near empty). Upon returning to base after dark, the ground crews came running up asking "How many did you get?!" with Yeager and Anderson with some puzzled faces. The fighter group had ran into more German aircraft that day then ever previously encountered, and both coming in late with their wings seared figured they had shot down a few squadrons worth. Nice way to go home

Also, Frenchy, he does say that about shooting down the 262, in hindsight

I have an Encounter report, think it was Peterson flying the p51.. He nailed a 190 across the wings and he visually saw the amunition exploding and tear bits off the wings. Now this would add greatly to gameplay if this affect could be modeled, certainly viable with any pane carring Cannons..

Dog out....
