Ok Ill keep this simple
First off there are a thousand and one techniques for landing on the carrier...MY technique is as follows.
1) Get aligned for a normal landing.
2) Have your aimpoint just prior to the end of the carrier where the cables are.
3) Come in nice and slow with 50% Flaps.
4) Drop your gear, arresting hook, and go to 100% on the flaps.
5) Your aimpoint probably has shifted a bit forward now.
6) Reduce your throttle so that you are doing a pinpoint landing on the cable end of the carrier.
7) When you land make sure your brakes are ON!!!!!!!!!
I always land with the brakes on while snatching that cable...have my finger on the brake button constantly....You will know when you land it well.
Also you never mentioned why you crashed...was it because you missed the cables, steered off, hit too hard, etc...that might help others help you.
Hope that works!!!!!!!!!!!!
