wasnt that the only jet dive bomber in history?...stressed for 12G and with the pilot in horizontal position in order to make him available to keep more Gs?

True, Hans.  The B-29 would make a fine attack aircraft.  Especially since it couldn't hit the broadside of a barn at 27k.  USAAF finally figured out what to do with it: fly at night over Japan at medium alt and drop incendiaries.   ,d,r
