CavemanJ use the radio, ask some people to come along with you as escorts, and you'll see what I (and I'm sure HT) mean about teamplay and strategy.

8ball, grab a panzer and try and get anywhere when there's planes strafing you.

You'll see what we mean.

8ball go get in your panzer and try to get an osti/m16 to cover ya.  if you're successful in doing so go out and see how long you last at a hotly contested base.

Your AA truck can only shoot in one direction at a time.  You'll have 3+ aircraft bearing down on you with bombs, rockets, cannon, and machine guns.

That doesn't include any enemy panzers that might be staked out along your path to ambush you.

Well then obvisously the other team is succeeding in having better teamplay than you; which is basically the point of a team based game.

I am not contesting the fact that you die quickly in that situation.  All I am saying is that you can prevent that by convincing enough others to join/cover you or you can just go to a field that is not hotly contested if you want to kill the convoys without somebody trying to stop you.

I decided again this morning to go lookin for trucks to kill.  Since I didna have any AA to go with me I decided I'd be the AA and took an ostwind.

Shoulda tried this before now.  Found a road, started cruising along it towards the spawn end of the road, spotted the convoy comin.  Pulled off to the side, jumped to the gun, waited til they were about 1500yds out and opened up.  It seemed like it was only 10seconds later or so that the whole convoy was gone and I still had over 900 rds left.  Managed to pick up some aircraft kills too, as they came out to blow me back to the tower.  In one run got 3 convoys and 1-2 aircraft before being killed.

Was actually fun.

Any thing that spreads the fight out, that encourages rocket armed Typhoons to go hedge hunting, that turns our late war arena into a more faithfull rendition of post D day Europe is fine by me!

As has been pointed out, a plane can kill a convoy.

So should a tank.

We already have squeaking betty, how about a "The resupplies are late!" warning too? (I'd really like a graphic alternative to the wav files, flashing lamps in the tower or town railway station?)

Make the Jabo's aware there's train killers hidden somewhere on the terrain. Spread out the mud movers. Gimme a Spit XIV to cover them. (BTW, shouldn't trains make as much fire/smoke as blown hangers? Some of the gun cam I've seen of post D day interdiction is mind boggling)

Shore batteries near strat targets could be fun too.

May be Wilbus would come down to where humans can breath and risk a couple of perkies........

It was alot of fun.  Every time I'd die I'd respawn my ostwind and head right for the road.  I'd get back in time to catch the next convoy, then drive back up towards the spawn end of the road.

HT I hate to point this out, but as I have proven this morning, the game is already setup for 1 person to shut down resupply to a base.  I would, however, prefer to do it with the vehicle that was built for that job, a tank, and leave the AA tracks to thier jobs of killing airplanes.

Conversely, had the area been as hotly contested as where I tried my panzer runs the other day than I might not have been able to completely cut off supplies to the base for over an hour by myself.

Nah, leave Wilbuz up there...  It's fun taking a 152 way up into the lower limits of space and blowing him out of the sky... ;)
