Today I was defending A9 of the Baltic map, killing vehicles with the help of some friends when this happened.
The spawn point of those vehicles was so close to the city, that it took very few minutes for panzers and other slugs to arrive to its perimeter. Then somebody discovered that releasing the troopers of a M3 from the spawn point could do the job, because the city was at walking distance.
Then here we are trying to kill those panzers, when 60 or 70 troopers appeared, and for my surprise could easily walk up dowtown. Then, our first priority become to kill those troopers and leave the panzers alone for a while. For making things worse, i discovered that to kill those soldiers is not enought with bombs or rockets, you have to ACTUALLY hit the man with something to kill it.
The result was that those panzers were at their own little-lonesome to destroy all buildings in the city, while we were very busy killing dozens and dozens of troopers. The guys using the M3 only had to select M3 from hangar, click the apropiate button to re-spawn at the right point, push the pickle and release 10 troopers. It doesn't matter if he got killed in the process or not... if the engine was on or not... if there were obstacles in between the city and himself or not. It was enough with pushing B every 15 secs and re-spawn again.
For my surprise, when I asked for any HTC staff member online, to formally comply about this, I found that many gamers support that feature.
I'm I playing AH or Airquake? Is this the same simulation we all, first palyers online, were so proud for its realism? Is this the program we all supported to develop with our imputs? And finally... IS THIS THE RESULT OF SO MUCH EFFORT?
Is it just me, or this is not the AH I knew?
