If you are satisfied with the performance of your GeForce with the current drivers you are using, then there is no real reason why you should update your video drivers. On the other hand, if you want to possibly improve the performance of the card, i.e. more frame rates, then maybe using the new drivers might be an option.
Before I tried out the new drivers, I used a test system at work to benchmark both the 27.70 beta drivers and the official 28.32 drivers.
Test system specs
950 Duron
384Megs RAM
GeForce 2 MX 32meg
DirectX 8.1
Win98SE
With the 27.70 beta drivers, 3D Mark 2001SE gave it a score of 1563
*.
With the 28.32 drivers, the benchmark score was 1889
*, an increase of over 300 points.
Now that I'm home from work, I'm going to install the new drivers and see if they help solve the frame rate problems I've been experiencing since the 1.09 update.
*I know it's a low score for an GeForce 2 card but it's a PCI card not an AGP. AGP based cards will give a slightly higher score.
