Solution to choppy frames with clutter on
« on: March 27, 2002, 05:14:25 PM »
Do you have a problem when you roll your plane close to the ground with ground clutter on and the roll is very uneven, pausing momentarily then accelerating, then slowing again? The solution I found works with both my radeon and radeon 8500 cards, but could work for many more. I just went to the D3D options and turned off the "wait for vertical synch" option. Now the frame rates are higher and the rolls are fluid.

Turning v-sync off usually results in the rubber bullet syndrome.

You're lined up for a shot!!...Couldn't get any better!!  You slowly squeeze the trigger..grinning all the while...  :D

....and you empty your ammo into the enemy with no visible damage. :)

I've found the stutter close to the ground is caused by the sheep. Millions of sheep.

(edit: re-spelt syndrome half a dozen times...hope I got it right. :))
