Patch, patch, patch. Doesn't anything in the cyber world, just work.  My TV has done what it was designed to do for years. It hasn't needed a single patch.

When's the last time you added functionalilty to your tv without having to buy a new tv or an added device (vcr, dvd, surroundsound) ??

In the past, when something we bought had design flaws we either took it back or lived with the shortcomings. Now we can get a repair. Sure, some companies abuse this practice and use it as an excuse to release shoddy products, but this isn't one of those companies. Seriously, you should have tried WWIIOL when it launched!

Try this; imagine what an MG might have been like if there was a downloadable patch for the Lucas electronics, or a rust patch for Fiats, or a transmission patch for the Yugo? ;)

Ahh easymo,..look at it this way.....If Harley-Davidosn built a single engine and sold it as a replacement for every other motorcycle engine every put into a motorcycle frame,....you think they might have to modify the motor mounts a bit for each frame?

Same with software.  Try building a complex 3D software package to run reliably along side of all the garbage people will add to thier computer and with all the hardware same folks will do.

Or take the electronics from your TV and try mounting and using them with another brand.

Hehe,..ya, HT should post hos computer specs and say, "if you do not have this exact computer, with this exact software, then tough,...you're on your own."
I just bet AH always runs flawlessly on his system. :D

I wasn't thinking about AH when I wrote that. Even after all this time, for me,  AH is like a magic trick that still amazes me.

I was thinking about the computer world in general. I think the day will come when you just turn the thing on,and do what you want to do.  I just don't think ill live that long.
