Bakersfield veterinarian loses three children in Merced killings

I dunno why... this angers me far more than that Yates woman.

Sad, saw this on the net last night.  Does it anger you more because a gun was involved? Because it was an ex-police officer as the killer?  Just curious.

To me, any death of a child by an adult angers me to near insanity...do you guys remember that case where a father shot his sons abducter in a rape case?  He was standing in the hallway of a courtrooom pretending to use the phone when the convicted defendant was exiting the courtroom after being found guilty, the father plugged a slug into the slime balls forehead.  He was later charged with 3rd degree manslaughter.  Well, sad to say, that'd be me....

From what I've read, the woman was a nutcase and she believed that she was helping her children get to heaven. (Somebody oughta charge that preacher with something.)

This case angers me because Hogan killed the children to hurt his ex-wife. It was spiteful.

The net result was the same, but the motivation was different.

I don't like guns, but if someone hurts my children, I'll get over it long enough to pop one in their skull.

And this story:
"Hogan retired in 1993 for undisclosed medical reasons"

"Hogan had called a former co-worker at the Santa Clara sheriff's office Tuesday morning and left a message that he was bankrupt and depressed"

So define what the difference is betweent the two cases?  other than motivation (revenge) they're both nut cases IMO.

Agreed...

Let me amend my statement. Hogan was a nutcase who killed his child and stepchildren for spite. He did it to hurt his ex-wife.

Someone asked me if there was any thread I wouldn't troll, and I answered "no"... I was wrong. To do something like this to children- to deprive them of their future, their hopes, their dreams- is so unspeakably evil that I find myself hoping there really is a Hell and that Hogan is there right now burning for all eternity.

What a waste of life. I don't care if he wants to off himself, but to destroy 3 children is a horrible horrible thing. If there is a hell, I know he is being interviewed right now.

I not only belive in the death penalty. But in the case of violent crimes, against children under the age of 12.  I belive in torture.  The Romans had basically 3 forms of execution. Crucifixion, the games, and burning at the stake.  The first has to many religious overtones.  The public, in general, would have no stomach for the second.  That leaves burning at the stake. Works for me!No matter how crazy you get.  The thought of being burned alive would give you pause.  And a lot more of these creatures would be killing themselves to excape punishment. saving the rest of us a lot of bother.

My opposition to the death penalty has nothing to do with rather or not I believe people can be evil enough they deserve to die. Also, the fact this monster was a cop at one time is as irrevelant as if he had a paper route as a kid or served in the Military. I used to HATE how every time a perp was busted for a violent crime the papers would automatically say "So-and so, a Vietnam Veteran..." as if ALL Viet Vets are violent criminals.

As much as I hate to say it .... The Games .... would be sold out far in advance.  And the prelims (protesters vs Ticket buyers) outside the stadium might be as interesting as the games themselves.  Chuck in some pay-per-view and we could likely pay for the entire prison system.
