Major Flickering with new Mother board/Graphics Card

Hi,
I recently upgraded my mother board for a 1gig celeron and didnt have any problomes before (even with current vid card) then after I installed my new motherboard I am getting major flickering :mad: . I cant even fly its so bad..offline and on. Can anyone help? I have a DFI Motherboard VIA Chipset (old motherboard was VIA also) and a HErcules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB (tested all drivers). if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Go to ViaHardware.com and download the latest VIA 4-1 drivers for your particular chipset.  This should fix the flickering.

I d/l the new 4in1 drivers but did not fix problome..attached is what it looks like (happens in cockpit and everywhere else)




anyone have a fix for this?? really anoying

errm if thats bad...

think u attached wrong image...

with the upgrade you should now install DX8.1 again, all drivers again, and the VIA drivers

was the right image but it was flickering so fast I couldnt actually really grab a shot at it. will try reinstalling DX 8.1 and see if that helps. have reloaded and install all the other drivers.

yes its a KYROII chipset. It worked fine for about a month but then when I installed an update for AH i started getting the flickering. an no reinstalling DX did not work. :(

When you installed new motherboard did u reformat your HDD and install your OS fresh?

You should if you didn't..

yep I reformated my HD and reinstalled my OS. I just dont know whats up with this. it was fine for about 1 month but then after an update I started getting the flickering.

well I found the last thing I would of thought of. with the new drivers you can over/under clock your card. well when I decided last thing I took it down from the normal 175Mhz to 165Mhz and I'll be if the flickering stoped and the performance was not hit at all. I am starting to wonder maybe the chip is running too hot or fast? oh well it works now :D

I see the same thing during sunrise and sunset. Once the orange sky complete fades to blue, all is normal.

Will try underclocking and see what happens.
