I will occasionally get a CTD in any game if my Voodoo 5 gets too hot.

What are your system specs?  Are you overclocking CPU or GPU?  Does your mainboard allow you to monitor temperatures in BIOS or using Motherboard Monitor?  Do you have a good quality heatsink/fan properly attached using a good quality thermal compound like Arctic Silver?

It might be a good idea to pull the side off of your CPU case and aim a big desk fan at it and fly for a while, just to see if that solves the problem.

If it does turn out to be you GPU look into a slot fan they are cheap and solved my problem.  I don't know what processor you are running but AMD has a good spec sheet in acrobat format about proper cooling of a processor.
 Good Luck!

If your system is overheating while playing games, then your system does not have adequate cooling.

I've been building my own systems for the last ten years, and one of the things I learned a long time ago is cooling is very important.

A slot fan will help, but I'll bet your CPU Heatsinkfan isn't up to par.Open the case and look...if it's a factory one consider investing $50 dollars in a new HSF,and some Arctic Silver.

If you have an AMD,consider buying a shim so you don't inadvertantly crack the CPU core...they cost about $7-8.

You can get all three at this website,or look around if you decide to do so.
