bendover iver appended films (avi's uncompressed) using virtualdub and videomach

you can then compress them using other software such as Bink to any codec you have on your system.

Hazed I think he meant the built in function in ahfilm, which produces corrupt files..

If I try to crop a film, it gets corrupted..

you can only crop the end of the film if start select is anything but 0:00 everything ends up out of place.

The link hazed provide to the other thread should explain how others are appending films.

You can append films in the ah film editor as longs as any film your crop started at 0:00 of the original ahf. You can then string them together.

However what I do is just use the ah film viewer to convert ahf. to uncompressed avis that then can be edited appended sound added etc.......then I either compress them using wmv or rw. Divx5 seems to compress avis quite well.

Weazel like 4.02 divx codec and provides all sorts of good tips and instruction in the link to the thread Hazed provioded.

yeah, it's the in-built one, i was wanting to append 3 films(1 long,2 short) together, as they were from the same h2h room, but were split up due to disconnects, they had some nice sorties in the hurri IIc (damn that's a good plane), but they also had some crap bits, which i was going to crop out (so your telling me that doesn't work either:rolleyes: ), oh well, no biggy, guess i'll just have to wait to they fix it.

btw, have i won the award for the longest sentense?

Sorry i didnt realise appending AH movie files was possible!news yo me heheh
bendover i assume you want to make the AHfilms into a .AVI eventually right?

well appending them as .avi instead of .AHF makes little difference.

what ive done is watch my AHfilms until i see something i like, then i rewind it a little set the start time for the avi in the film veiwer then when all the action is finished set the end and whilst film is still playing(pausing or stopping it sometimes stops it working for me) I press the make AVI button.be patient here as the film has to forward to the point you have set.(you'll notice all the radio stuff wizzing by), save as uncompressed and then do the same for your next clip.
then just append them together in virtualdub.Then compress them all using BINK (http://www.radgametools.com) and then again using bink 'convert' to an avi file using whatever codec you want. or if size isnt a concern save as uncompressed AVI.

its a fairly simple, if slightly lenghy process but you can add music etc easily. Its a lot of fun actually.
