How about adding a "Quest interface" to AH?

The system generates some random generic quests and assign an ammount of perks as reward and you join the quest for a "depot" of 50 perks.

For example, five active quests:
1 - Kill 15 enemy fighters in a single fighter sortie: 200 perks.
2 - Destroy 3 hangars in a single jabo sortie: 150 perks.
3 - Destroy 4 enemy buffs in less than two hours in a fighter: 200 perks.
4 - Shink 2 enemy ships with torpedoes in a single sortie: 300
perks.
5 - Take two enemy bases in less than 2 hours: 300 perks.

Any quest should end with your plane successfuly landed or your vehicle ditched/landed/captured but not destroyed.

Now for 50 perks you can join any of these quests, if you achieve the goal, your recover your 50 perks and the reward, you also are awarded with one finished quest. In the score pages a "successfull quests %" is added.

Every 30 mins, new random quests substitute the previous ones in the "join quest interface" and a player may join only one quest at a time.

More complex and lucrative quests may be added for squadrons. That is, every squad memeber pays 50 perks and the reward is shared between all the members.

While this would emphasize the gaminess of the MA, I think this could be interesting for people who do not spend a lot of time flying, since it could grant them the perks they could not achieve in a loong time due to their time restraints.

I don't agree, though, with the "subscription fee" of 50 perks, since it would discourage most people from joining quests.

I would make it more mission-oriented, since it would be an incentive for many players to work together.

My € .02 anyway.

Hmmm.  Really interesting idea.  I also have reservations about this but it might be an interesting thing to experiment with.  It would certainly be an interesting alternative to the current mission system (not a complaint about the mission system, just an observation).  I'm not sure about the subscription fee, but if you are handing out those big bellybutton perks then it might be justified.  An alternative might be to make the quests squad oriented.  Only designated squad members could sign their squads up, and this would then encourage cooperative endeavours, rather than simply becoming another vehicle for lone wolves to do their thing.  So you would ratchet up the score requirements.  For example, a squad has to destroy 12 enemy buffs in a 2 hour period, or 30 fighters in a 2 hour period.  Then the perks get distributed among the squad members signed up for the quest.

Just an idea.  But it's worth exploring; done properly I don't think it would emphasize the "gaminess" of the environment, but would instead result in objectives that produced some more realistic scenarios.  Kudos for thinking outside the box anyway.

Interesting :) I disagree that it should cost 50 perks to join one of these missions but on the whole I like this!

The "fee" is just to prevent having the entire arena trying quests to get free perks.

The quests (player or squad oriented) should be hard to achieve but very lucrative. Trying lucrative quests for nothing will imply having all the players/squads involved in quests.

A possible variation would be a "bet" system. That is, each quest has a perk multiplier (x1.5, x2, x3 ... x10) depending on the difficulty. Then the players "bet" an ammount of their perks points up to a limit (50 perks?). If the quest is achieved they get the bet ammount multiplied by te quest multiplier, else they loose their perks.

C'mon gents!!!.
What AH needs is a RPS, with a few more early-mid war planes the stable will be ready.
Forget all this crap of perkies!!!.
This is supposed to be a WWII air sim. Not a fly-market.

BRING RPS TO AH, NOW!!!

RPS, if implemented, will have also perk rides for each period.

If we would then see less perk planes or... less perk planes in the hands of skilled veterans then it is a good idea.

If we see more perk planes in the arena it is then a bad idea.
