Hi HT et al,

Just wondering if there have ever been any plans made to introduce Seaplanes to AH? Not only would this give an air capability to ports, I think they'd be fun to fly.

The Kawanishi H8K2 (148 built) would make an awesome addition to the game:

Top Speed: 290mph
Range: 4445 Miles
Armament: 5 20mm Cannons, 5 MGs, 4,400 LBS Bombload  :D

Other good planes in this role would be the Short Sunderland (2K Bombload) and the PBY Catalina (4K Bombload, 3290 built and very historically important).

Also, I know this is far fetched, but has anyone ever considered putting catapult launched planes on the Cruisers? The AR196 A5 with its 2x20mm cannons and 2x7.9s and 100kg bombload might be a fun addition as well as giving the fleet some very limited air cap even after the CV is sunk.

Just some thoughts.

You dont have to swim back to CV or harbor when you bail out and ditch , seaplanes and flying boats could rescue ditched pilots from sea and get some perk points from that job..
This would be great addition to AH :)

i would like to see a few more Carrier or maritime aircraft in the game..Short sunderland would be great..catalina fantastic..germany a a good few sea planes too..

i also like the historical importance..
the whole us navy owes a debt to the catalina,,

i know a lot of people are gonna say" we cant dogfight in them....."  "they will only be used in certain scenarios" well if the news that the maps are gonna be bigger, a long rang maritime plane will be good, don't ya think..this only will hold true if the new larger maps are not arcadeised and certain targets will be out of range of some fighters like for example mid atlantic ..pacific.. whos fule burn is kept almost realistic..


getting a bit tired of only furballs going on...other stuff can be happening to...more bombers and gv types please(even though i dont use them much):)
