AT6 Texan Crash Some Interesting Info
« on: April 03, 2002, 11:05:57 AM »
We had a Texan crash here in Gainseville, GA the other day.  My uncle lives about 10 mins from the airport that the plane took off from.  He was on his way to work and saw the damaged plane.  Now here comes the interesting part.  It seems that the plane was just purchased by one of the gentleman that was in it when it crashed.  He hired a "trainer" to teach him how to fly it.  Well according to people at the airfield my uncle knows they were practicing takeoff and landings, well then plane landed several times and on the last landing smoke came out the back of it,  but the guy taxied it and took off again.  The crash site did'nt have any fuel at it, the damn thing ran out of gas and crashed on takeoff.  What a waste of a awesome plane.
