I think they should be random. Spawn points are just there for gameplay, so people don't have to drive for hours. I like spawn points to be randomly placed and I like alot of them so there are too many to camp:) I think all spawn points taking the same amount of time to get within each base is too sterile. If your talking about the Tunisia terrain theres spawns points everywhere some MAY seam to be far reamoved from a field, theres a reason behind this. If you go axis you'll see some spawn points, then go allied:) noticed theres places gv's can Mix it up with other GV's without the horde of AC overhead. Tunisia is a small map also, so the drives won't be that time consuming.
Besides you start your map with tiles and elevation, THEN feilds and spawn points are placed for distances. Then you go back and look to see if the spawn points will actually work, then you change the Elevation and tiles so the hundreds of spawn points work, then your elevation and map get completely screwed. Then you change your spawn points, and 6 months later someone squeakes cause 1 spawn point takes them 10 minutes instead of the ussual 7:(
