Verm, you need to have a spotter on station when the fighters engage, last scenario that JG2 was in, there was  a ceiling limit, by the time the icons were  visible, 50% of the allies had broke the ceiling limit and were  3 to 4 K above us.

FYI, Luftwaffe is 2-0 in Historical engagements, maybe  you should give those spits an alt advantage  so they have a chance of beating us

A spotter would be nice. But with a guncam in the sim folks now have a means for collecting evidence to report transgressions, such as breaking an alt limit, to the scenario staff. Then, if the CM finds it warrant, he/she could levy an appropriate penalty on the guilty side - such as loss of X amount of Y type aircraft for a frame or two. Since penalties could effect the whole side you now end up having peer pressure enforcing the rules.

JG2: I think the Buccaneers might just have to take up the gauntlet you've thrown down, and fly for the Allies.  Especially since we've not had the pleasure of going head to head with you guys for some weeks now .  Check-six, Jerry .

By the way, Verm; is this taking place late enough in the war that the Italian planes were not a factor?  It would add some great diversity to the plane set to use the C-202/205, and the mafia crew would love it.

Rojo, the Italian planes are definitely a factor in this event.

There are two units of C.202's (8 planes each) flying for the Axis side.

It would have been nice to inlcude a squadron of C.205's as well, but I can't find any evidence that they were past the prototype/Early acceptance testing at this point of the war, and were not quite yet at the front.

Rojo(Sabre), Guess that means you'll be flying with the evil side after all!

Hi Vermillion,

i can inform you that the c205V (serie I) was based in Sicily at Catania in spring 1943 (11 may 1943).

On 20 april 25 c205V of 1' Stormo and 9 c202 at 13:45 take off from Pantelleria to reach Capo Bon and Capo Mustafa', at 35km west from Pantelleria they found 60 Spitfire of the 92,417 and 601 Squadron of The South African Air Force.
3 c205 was downed, no data about the c202, the italian pilots declared 14 Spitfire downed.

c205V (serie I) : 12.7mm x 2 + 7.7mm x 2

Yes Visconti I think you had sent me that report when we were talking about this before. Thanks

Unfortunately, that report is 11 May 1943, and the Axis forces around Tunis surrendered on 12 May 1943.

Overall, the scenario is suppose to represent from January - May, 1943 and I had to make a judgement call on whether or not the C.205 was representative, and significant throughout the battle.

In the end, I had to decide against it. Sorry.
