AirScrew's After Action Report
What a night last night. Last night is a perfect example of why Aces High rocks. A big S! to all the Rooks at A9 and A10 last night. Heavy fighting between the us and the Knights.

We lose 10 then get it right back. Knights launch ground offensive against 10 from 9 with bombers overhead. Rooks beat back the attack then launch an offensive from air and ground against 9. And back and forth we go alternating between defending and attacking for something like 3 hours.

Another !S for HTC for AHVoice. As group we are better coordinated and can help each other. Case in point, flying from 10 to 9 in La7 at about 7k, I hear someone call for help, look down and see eskimo dragging two cons, spit and 205 I think. I call out that I'm in and see and hear Tango doing the same. Tango takes one and I take the other. both break off eskimo. Now I have a spit on my 6. Someone calls it out to me, I look back and see Eskimo bearing down on the spit. I watch and see he's in position, I break left and up, spit climbs, eskimo kills spit.
All night was like that. Communicating enemy's positions, clearing 6, wild time.

So Salute to my squad m8s RafBadder, CPR, Beeger, Shoulman, and fellow Rookies Eskimo, Tango, TW, JDW, RA, Rthus, WhtTiger?, AcidFunk, Kweassa?, Fatz, Urchine, (whats a Knight doing in Rooklandia) and many others that now this morning I cant recall all their names, just a great night last night.

Finally a Salute to the Knights at 9, you guys where tough and never gave up.

I'm gona play this game till I die, (much to the dismay of my wife)

Yes, some fantastic fighting there last night. Fighters, bombers, GV's, it had it all. Made up for the crappy night I had the night before.

Bless your little hearts for reupping GVs at that one spawn point near A9 for over an hour. What a blast, I think everyone there walked away with enough points for a shiny new Me262

Heck, we were telling guys DO NOT KILL THEIR VH!

Some of you guys are amazingly accurate in that Osty...many 1 ping deaths.

You know its a fun GV war when you sit on the runway and watch iceMAW take off in a Lancaster, with the bomb bay doors open, and that BIG 4k bomb ready for some GVs

Yep, the Rooks last night were like the Rooks of old.

Rooks were organized and hungry for bases.

I don't think the Bish's knew what hit them when they lost two or three bases in minutes of each other as they were doing their usual suicide one way missions to sink the carrier.

There are so many really good squads that fly Rook it's impressive. Last night on the radio it was like business as targets were called out and destroyed, goons were rolled and bases were taken. It felt like Desert Storm all over again.

Wasn't that fun? I whacked 21 Bish with the 5" dual mount turret on the CV. Still, they kept coming in ones and twos to their doom. Determined, but disorganized attacks usually fail, and their attacks failed all night because most of the Bish at A6 preferred to furball rather than organize a mass attack on the CV. Those few who tried and got past the fighters were pulverized by the manned tripleA. I am aware of only one attacker who got through to launch rockets, and he died while launching them. It was mass murder.

Don't forget about us independent operators. We were right in the thick of it all night. Several of us "non-squadron" Rooks teamed up with members of various squads and killed more than 25 GVs north of A6, and then moved across to fight the Knits, where we nailed a boat load more. I don't know about the Bish and Knits, but the ability to organize on the spot and carry out a prolonged textbook-like operation is something the Rooks can be proud of. It was a sight to behold. Rooks formed up and rolled in spaced seconds apart, methodically pounding Bish GVs out of existance. When Bish fighters arrived to end the slaughter, they met with a coordinated defense that made for a very brief sortie.
We didn't lose a single aircraft throughout this prolonged fight. The most amazing thing was that none of these Rooks had ever flown together before. Instant squadron. A very special salute to MiG, Booky and a few who's names I can't recall (if you were there, let me know). You guys are the best and it was a great pleasure to fly with you.

yes definately a hell of a time between 9 and 10 last night flying an LA-5 and driving an osty. I had 3 kills in the osty in about 1 minute too much fun. Was also in the area of eskimo, tango "incident" cleared a spit off of someone forgot who.

Yeah, last night was really fun. I know a B26 got over the carrier group at low altitude though, because I watched it. He dropped his bombs and managed to sink the BB, although he died very shortly after.

I was VERY impressed with the average Rook player yesterday. When I logged on, it looked like you guys were really taking it from the Knights and Bishops. The fight between A9 and A10 was great- I really liked the 6 calls I received over AHvoice. It is just such a nice feeling to be in a 3 on 1 and hear 2 people yelling "Hold on Urchin, I'm on the way!". Don't hear that in Knightland very often, unless you are flying with your squad.

I really enjoyed flying with you Rooks the past few days. I had to go back to Knights last night because I ended up fighting squaddies in the A9-A10 fight, which was an uncomfortable feeling for me. Best of luck to you Rooks

. I may end up visiting for a few days at a time if I get sick of the Knights again.

Rooks. That was a pretty intense fight. That whole line of battle there was pretty rough and I have to say that I had a tough night of it especially in the A2 area. It was fun though!

Airscrew- thanks for the 6 calls and the cover bud.

Urchin- I about crashed my plane when I saw you as a rook
way down in the weeds there . I think I'm still pulling the weeds and leaves out of my mouth from mixing it up down low there trying to help clear your 6 .

Urchin, good to hear that you enjoyed your time with Rooks. I couldn't agree more it's great to hear people calling out contacts and six calls. Information like that goes along way to help with SA for everyone.
