Fastest Spit9 in the world.
« on: April 08, 2002, 12:16:24 PM »
Friday night, up for a few short hops with 2 other BK's. One is in a Typhoon, the other in a 190D9.

The field is swarming with N1k's, so I jump in a spit9. Yank & bank, get a kill or 2. Climb and level off at 8k. See an enemy 190. Manuver on his 6 and he noses down and runs. I chase him down and whack him.

? Musta been a new guy and was bleeding off his speed.

Jump a P51B. Run him down and kill him.

?? Wasn't a new guy.

All cons are gone so we turn NW towards some dots. Both my guys off my wing at 4 & 8 oc. The typhoon driver says, "Man! That Spit14 is fast!" Oh crap, quick scan. Shoot! Where is he?

I don't see him but I see a low 109 and hurricane. As I'm diving on the hurri, blow the shot and he pulls into my 6, the light bulb goes off. Oh hell, I'm the spit14, about to lose it to a hurri, lol.

Damned roman numerals.

LOL! :)

A new guy in my squad did that the other night.  He launched a "Spit 9" from a capped field with only 25% fuel the other night and was amazed at its performance.  He got like 4 kills, ran off the vulchers, and eventually chased an enemy out over the sea and ran outta fuel, completely unscathed.

Only when he went back to the hanger and he lost 60 perks did he realize that he was flying the Spit14  :D

Been there...done that...

Thereshould be a warning window asking you "Are you sure you want to spend these perk points?"...you click "yes" if so and off you go.

Last night I finally reached enough perks to fly the F4U-4 for the first time. As I was taking off some clown changed the CV waypoints and I crashed off the side of the deck.

Back to perk welfare land :(

So, I'm not the only one eh?

I've got over 2500 perks but even at that, once I realized what I was flying, my flying manner changed. Was interesting actually. Losing 60 points would have been a drop in the bucket, but I got overly cautious just the same.

Those vulchers sure got wide eyes when you took that XIV off the capped field. :D :D

Yes, i would really like to give perks to newbies.
I don't need them cause i never use perk planes, my favourite is still unperked and i would really like to make some "here squaddy you can get a 262 sortie" gifts.

Heh I took a "Typhoon" for a ride and when I was looking ammo-counters I thought "Neat; HTC gave more ammo to this one".
Later in fight I was looking to the sides and then I noticed something was wrong: "hmm new wings too? Guess we're not in Kansas anymore" :D

Well after C-Hog got perked I tried to lift a 'D-Hog' off the fleet in overloaded config... Smashed it many many times at the end of the deck... As you already suspect... It was not a D-Hog i was in... :D Went almost broke on that one... :)
