You know, all this FM squeaking crap is just plain assed silly.

Does anyone reading this BBS really think ALL fighters of any one type performed the exact same?  Does anyone think all fighters of same type in any one squadron even performed the same?

Are we all pretending to fly the same mythical prototype?

Even with modern automated manufacturing techniques, you aint gonna get two cars rolling off the line that perform identically.  Treat slight variations as vagaries of war and get on with it.

For HTC, get it as close as ya can and use your good judgement for the rest.  Not like I am really telling you anything though.

I think the real problem is that some people think that modeling decisions are made by the Illuminati or the Elders of Zion or something. Some people honestly don't believe that HTC is interested in a fair and even representation. F4UDOA said it best though.

However it does not always mean that they use the performance numbers I would like to see. For instance the F6F top speed. Or the charts used for the F4U-4. I don't spend a great deal of time complaining about it though because while I would use different information their information is valid also. Just different from mine.

most people beetchin are flying their planes to some performance level they read in some book.

They would be alot better off if they fly the planes to how they are modelled in ah.

Warbirds fm is different

aw was different

il2 is different

The trick to happiness is learning how to fly the planes as they are modelled in game. Most of the test done show the numbers for HTs fm to be damned close to rl figures. None are perfect like none of the other games are. And like Furious says even performance between the same planes in the same squadron differed a bit.

We all want a realistic fm. If something was totally off provide the info and sources. Its stupid to get pissed off about it. No matter how bad the fm is its your skills that get you kills or get you killed.

just my .2cents
