To all the Aussies, and Kiwis...Hope you all had a good ANZAC day

Sydney's Dawn Service

Australian Digger AIF, Lone Pine - Gallipoli 8th Aug 1915

Wellington Mounted Rifles NZEF, Resting in trenches at Table top for the assault on Chunuk Bair - Gallipoli 6th Aug 1915

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget

I was just coming in to make an ANZAC thread, glad to see i was beaten to it,personally i had a great day, played some 2up and shook hands with every Vet i met and thanked them....
Salute

PS Went to the dawn service in Adelaide River (NT) 2 yrs ago,it was a foggy morning, strange for the NT and it was the most moving thing i have ever seen,
For those that don't know Adelaide River is about 200k south of Darwin, there are actually Australian and American war dead buried there, spent hours in the cemetery reading the plaques, they were so young..... :(

The Cab company I drive for gave Diggers free rides anywhere in town today, I had the honour of taking two such esteemed Gentlemen to the dawn service.

I unfortunately didn't get a chance to get to a RSL, have a beer and play alittle 2-up...the best I could manage was watching the sydney march on the ABC.

It is a great day to be an Aussie or a Kiwi tho.
