No film viewer option
« on: May 03, 2002, 10:14:16 AM »
(I posted this also on the film viewer board, but no response there).  The film viewer option does not work on my machine.  It didn't work on my old machine either, and I thought the outdated machine was why.  Now, however, I have a p4 1.7 ghz with plenty RAM and I still have the same problem.  I completely reinstalled AH with the new machine, so I have no clue.

I thought it was because I've been flying only H2H lately (thinking perhaps it is disabled in H2H), but I've seen posts on the H2H board that would indicate the film viewer works fine there.

My problem:  it won't activate when I hit the toggle button.  It just ignores the option.  I did the key mapping thingy, but switching the button didn't work either.

I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions?

Are you talking "film viewing" or "film recording" ... they are 2 very distinct actions. Your post seems, at least to me, be mixing them up.

Film recording, obviously, takes place while flying within the FE. My keyboard setup is ALT-R to toggle recording on/off. When recording, you should see a red R in the upper left hand corner of your screen.

Film viewing, is not available as "an option" within the FE. You must use the separate AH Film viewer to view xxx.ahf files (xxx=sequential number after recording).

Yep, I mixed 'em all right.  My mistake.  I am talking about the recording feature.  It does not matter if I use the default (alt-r?) or substitute a different key, there appears to be no record feature available to me.  I re-installed AH from scratch recently, so I don't think anything has been corrupted.  I was wondering if others had this problem, and if so, how to correct it.  Thanks.
