I generally go for wines from the Loire, Burgundy, and Alsace, but I've had some excellent Australian and South African wines and some scrumptious Rioja. We don't seem to get any good American wines over here - Gallo is about the best and that's not saying much.

About 12 years ago we had some truly excellent wine from Bulgaria - Merlot - but they twigged and the quality plummetted.

I'm currently enjoying a nice Sancerre.

I have one bottle of 1974 Cabernet from Estrella winery in Central California stored on its side in a cool place. Started with 3 bottles, but drank the second one on New Years 2000. 1st one I don't remember.  Both were very smooth IIRC. Still waiting for a good occasion to pop the 3rd one.

BTW it's not worth anything cause it's not labeled. I used to live next to the winery and got these from a lady who worked there.

Otherwise a good Graves ... or Saumur Champigny or St Nicolas de Bourgueil or good Californian Cabernet ...or a Chilian one
or a Hungarish Tokay or ... (the list is endless :))

I won't care where the wine come :

It just need to have a Wonderfull Taste :)

In fact there is some pretty horrible wine in France and others are  GREAT but to costly for me :(

Midnight you are lucky to have a cabernet that can handle so long time without becoming vinegar ... don't wait too long or ...
