Gameplay feature request...

Here's what I'd like to see in AH as an arena configurable setting...

The ability to resupply bases to make them repair faster. Simply put, you could hop in a gooney or a troop gv and drive a load of either supplies or acks to *another* field.

Naturally, the gooney would have to land or the GV would have to stop and perhaps the supplies would have to be unloaded (i.e. 'fired')

The effect would be to either repair 1000 bomb-pounds of damage, or 'fix' two random acks.

And as an interesting alternative, by adding a 'supply' shack at bases you could cripple the ability of a field to launch resupply missions.

It might also be interesting if you could resupply other commodities as well (fuel, ammo, troops)

As an interesting variant, you could also make it so that capturing a field didn't automatically bring back all the ack. That way there'd be an incentive to fly a resupply to get the ack back up to 100%

Just a thought.

p.s. And this would work really well with a rail system. Hint hint.

Some ideas:

Resupply sorties can only be launched from large airfields.

After field capture, only light AAA comes up, representing what the paras could carry. Medium and heavy AAA rebuilds in "x" minutes after capture. A cargo plane/glider/truck could resupply with medium acks instantly.

Other resupply loads could offset damaged field assets, with loads like Fuel and Radar.

AI controlled trains with human mannable ack carriages would be nice.

It ain't gonna happen. Wish it would, but it won't. I like the idea of goons resupplying fields for sped up rebuild time but I keep getting the same answer :-)

Very good ideas lemur. And add the ability to drop chutes over friendly fields without barracs to enable toops there. Add trucks for the same purpose. Some supplies should be only availabe for trucks.
In the strat window, add a mark at the names of fields needing supplies.

Slow down a lot the auto-rebuild time for the bases and these kind of missions will be very popular.

This would be pretty cool!

But I think that you would get people just flying around damaged fields watching for the supply goons and doing everything possible to not get in a fight just so they can rack up the kills by jumping goons.  This really would only effect people who actually care about there rank and score but I think you would see the same names killing you alot if you were a goon pilot.  This may cause another "dweeb" to show up.  I mean we have dweebs who fly this and dweebs who fly that and dweebs who only fight HO, etc etc etc.  I would like to see it tried here though.  It may be pretty cool.

Some very good ideas here.

Why not have the need of a transport plane to drop supplies, to have the field ack rebuild at capture. The same way as we now need goons for capture.

Could be the same plane as now. You would just have the option of loading goons or supplies.

Don't most things at a base regenerate in about 15 minutes? That seems fairly fast already.
