Question to Boroda.
« on: May 13, 2002, 02:03:40 PM »
Hi!

Recently I participated in a little gathering among ex-soviet emigrant circle and we had a discussion/reminiscence on prime numbers. As a self-proclaimed expert, would you care to correct/expand the sequence we came up with and if possible put dates to it.

 2.80 (before my time), 3.72, 4.12 - good old Breshnev's years, 4.70, 5.30(?), 7.20, 9.30, ...

Hmm... When I started consuming it it was 10.00 for foil cap and 10.20 for twisting "screw".

Let me correct you a little:

2.87, 3.62, 5.30 (around 1980), 4.12 (andropovka, 1983), then came Gorbachev's "destroyka" - 6.80 (1986), then immediately - 10.00 (from 9.80 for cheap "russkaya", 10.00 for "pshenka s kozyrkom" and 10.20 for "vint"). It's a price for 0.5, I don't remeber price for "chekushka" or "raiska".

But the all-time classics is 3.62. Yerofeyev's "Moskva-Petushki" still has this price on the back ;)

I wonder who else will understand what we are talking about.

:D :D :D

This brings back memories. In late-80s it was much easier to buy Azerbaijanian for 13.80 (student classics) or "sukharik" from 1.80 to 2.50. Later, in maybe 1990 we preferred to get something like "kubanskaya" in commercial trading for 30.00 - the first sign of coming inflation... Also we liked "three axes", "thirteen" or "seventy two", but it was extremely "cost effective" and thus difficul to buy. We had all "trading points" around our college "screened", and had a good team from theater tickets "lom" that could get to the counter with minimal losses ;) At least without collars or sleeves torn away or broken bones ;)
